More history...........
In the 1840's Germany formed the Society of Noblemen, a group of
German Princes. The dashing Prince Karl of Solms-Braunfels (a
relative of England's Queen Victoria), was appointed to oversee
this venture. These industrious and visionary noblemen acquired
nearly four million acres from the Republic of Texas, which
included the Oak Rose Plantation. The purchase of the Fisher
Miller Land Grant was the beginning of the European settlement
in beautiful central Texas. Thus, an early history of the Oak
Rose Plantation and a fitting one for "The Carriage House." We
are truly blessed to be able to share, the Carriage House with
you. Let us help you plan your special occasion. We look forward
to meeting you.
Blessings,
